Baby Constipation Remedies

You are dealing with baby constipation and the situation is stressing you out because you don’t know what to do. As a mother, you feel terrible and want to find a miracle cure to help your baby recover from this terrible condition…

1. For babies under two months old, you should add about one ounce of water daily to their drink. Some doctors may advise not giving water to infants under the age of six months. However, as long as you give them pure water, you should have no worries about side effects.

2. If formula is to blame for the condition, then consider changing to another type and see whether that helps.
3. For babies between the ages of two and six months, give them one to two teaspoons of Karo Syrup diluted with one once of water.

4. For babies six months and older, choose baby cereal that is high in fiber. Don’t give them rice cereal – that’s usually bad news for those suffering with this dreadful condition – especially when combined with milk.

5. Prune juice is another remedy that works well. You should make water, pear and apple juice part of your child’s diet as well. If your child is giving you a hard time, refusing to drink water on its own, mix it with his or her favorite juice.

6. For some kids, milk tends to cause hard stool. For a toddler older than a year, you can try giving him soy milk instead of regular milk. That’s what I did and it was easy to achieve soft and manageable stools because of it.

The above infant constipation treatments work within a few hours. However, if your child is suffering with a chronic condition and needs relief right away, you can give him a baby-size suppository, which you can find at most drug stores; or consult a pediatric.
